Ask a Sex Therapist

I'm 43 years old. I've never been married or been in a long term serious relationship, and I think the main reason for that is that I don't like sex. It's been 18 years since I've been with a man, and I really don't care if I ever have sex again. Is there something I can take to increase my sexual desire, or do some people just never have that desire?

One key to increase your desire in sex is to explore your genitals. Use a mirror and find out what feels good. It is natural and normal to be a sexual being. Once you find out what feels good, engage in masturbation. Another key is to fantasize. Your brain is your biggest sex organ. You may want to purchase some erotica and read through it to see what turns you on. - Answer provided by Jason S. Quintal, MSW, LCSW, DrJ@RelationshipSpecialties.com, www.RelationshipSpecialties.com.
