Ask a Sex Therapist

I want to last longer during sexual intercourse. Is it true that if I place a rubber band around my penis it will affect the blood flow and be possible for me to maintain a longer erection? If true, can I pick these up at any "sex toy store"?

My clients have had mixed results from the use of this type of device. You may want to focus on: 1) Trying stop-and-go lovemaking. As you near the point of ejaculatory inevitability, stop all stimulation/motion and wait until the urge subsides, and then start motion again; 2) My turn/your turn stimulation may be an alternate for you. Both of you focus on her orgasm or satiation and then you both focus on yours. You may want to introduce a vibrator into your sexuality activity. - Answer provided by Tim Britton, Ph.D., AASECT, ABS, timbritton@yahoo.com.
