Ask a Sex Therapist

Is it normal for a man to have multiple orgasms while having sex?

There is some research that suggests that multiple orgasms for men is possible. In this research though all the men only actually expelled liquid one time. The other orgasms were described and experienced by the men though no ejaculate was expelled. So is it normal? If by normal you mean that most men experience it? Then the answer is no, it is not normal. It, however, is not a malady that needs correction. If your partner is experiencing multiple orgasms then great for him. If your partner is not experiencing multiple orgasms then he and you need to know that there is no need to experience multiple orgasms to achieve satisfying sex. - Answer provided by Michael Gonzales, Ph.D., mfgonzal@speakeasy.net, www.upasoc.com.
